The Twist and Turns of the Trinity Highway 299

The Trinity Hwy is a twisty, turny road for sure. This was the second time we had traveled this road so we knew what we were getting into and we knew that we wanted to split it up with a stop in the middle. We hit the road with no reservations, but hopes of finding a place close to the middle.

This is how we came across Del Loma Campground. But, first I guess I should say that we did stop at some random place "google" said was a Campground. It was not, and they recommended for us to continue up to Del Loma Campground, so when we saw it mom jumped out and ran in.

Once we were checked in, found a site, minimally set up ( we were only staying one night ) and ate lunch we were ready to explore. It was very hot out after being in Klamath all week so we wanted water. We could see the Trinity from our campsite and there was a trail to the beach right below us. So we grabbed a few things and headed down.

The River was so clear and really not that cold we ran right in. After playing for a while we spotted 2 deer up the river from us but they ran off quickly. We also saw lots of turtles on logs. They always jumped off before we could get close enough to them. Mom and Dad found a fun little rock for us all to jump off of, it was a lot of fun. We think it was about 6 feet from the water. Even Dad and Everest Jumped off.

After playing at the river we decided to go explore the campground. We found that they had a rec-room, mini golf, a soccer field, and even a pool. We turned on the yard sprinkler and played soccer with Dad. ET played around with the mini golf stuff with Mom. Then we all went and swam in the pool, until we called it a night.

It was a super short stop but so much fun.
