🦔 Year of the Rabbit 2023

Image
It's Chinese new year.  This year 2023 is year of the Rabbit 🐇  I was born in 2011, that is also the year of the Water Rabbit 🐇 also but it was year of the Metal Rabbit 🐇.  The Rabbit is believed to be the luckiest of the 12 animals to be born under and considered a gentle animal that thinks before acting.  The Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope. The luckiest Chinese zodiac signs in 2023 are oxes, tigers (mom is year of the tiger) and snakes (SP is year of the snake). So we should have lots of luck in our family this year.  Dad is year of the Rooster 🐓  Mom is year of the Tiger 🐅  Me JJ I'm year of the Rabbit 🐇  SP is year of the snake 🐍  MJ is  year of the monkey  🐒  ET is year of the Pig 🐖  What is your Chinese zodiac animal? I had lots of fun learning all about the different zodiac signs. JJ 😜

🦔 Junior Ranger Program

Image
Whats a fun and free way to help you remember your trips?? We have it and it's a good way to remember our trips and to get a fun memento. We do the Junior ranger program, for State and National Parks / monuments. I love to do them. To do  the Junior ranger you need to get the booklets from the visitor center. The books are 10 to 20 pages long and you complete a certain amount of it depending on your age. When you finish your book you turn it in and go over it with a ranger,  once done the ranger will swear you in and give you a badge or a patch.  Some times Mom can per print them at home to give us more time to do them, but some times we have to wait to get them at the park. I like the books  because they tell you about the history, environment, animals and  fun facts about the park.  We have 35 badges so far. My favorite badge is the  Great basin dark sky  patch, I  like the  design on it alot.  Some of the badges are plastic...

🦔 Explorer Acadamy book review

Sieres : Explore Academy  Author: Trudi Trueit Publisher: National Geographic  Number of books in sieres: 7 We read the book sieres Explore Academy out loud as a family and then listened to them on audible.  These book are scientific fiction books. There are 7 books in the sieres.  It took us 3 years to read them all because we had to wait for the last few to come out, one a year.  I loved the scinces, travel, and history in each book. I like at the end of the books it has the true scinces facts to go along with them. Mom also had us look the places up they travel to and map it. My favorite character is Lani. She loves to invent stuff. In the 7th book she made a machine that can talk to trees.  In each book the Explore Academy has a mission to complete and Cruz hunts for one of his mom ciphers.  These are a few ofmy favorite parts from each book , Book 1: I like it when they do the butterfly misson in the cave were they had to record Monarch butt...

🦔Happy New Years 2023

Happy new years!!! We had the best last day of 2022 and a great  kick off day to 2023. Here in northern NV we got  a huge storm it started off raining for hours then turned to snow ❄️.we got 6 inches of snow!! What do you do when you get so much snow in one afternoon???? You go sledding!!!! We don't sled like normal people. We sled behind the side by side. We have two metal sleds that we strap to the back and Dad pulls us around the yard and the neighborhood.  It's so much fun. Yesterday it was snowing when  we were sledding. So that made our tracks  disappear as we were making them. Everything was buried in snow.  Dad would find bumps and go fast over them making us jump. It is amazing to jump the sleds.  Today Mom rode on the sleds with us. I rode on on top of her back. It was amazing. I slipped a little when we went up hills so I had to wiggle back up her back. Her face was covered in the snow and she couldn't see anything.  We all laughed at h...
